The Angelus (iterated)

On the left: "The Angelus," by Jean-Francoise Millet (1857-59). On the right: "Archeological Reminiscence of Millet's Angelus," by Salvador Dali (1933-35).

Salvador Dali was so taken with Millet's painting "The Angelus" when he first saw it as a child that in addition to painting variations on it for years he wrote a book about it, The Tragic Myth of Millet's Angelus.

This one just happened. . . Realizing that the photo I shot of Tim with my brother and dad this weekend looked familiar, I went digging and found its very similar older counterpart, taken in 30+ years ago.

Mere coincidence?
