Braque, is that you?

On the left: Paul Cezanne, "La Montagne Sainte-Victoire," 1885-1895; on the right: Georges Braque, "Viaduct at L'Estaque,"1908.

(I knew that Georges Braque's style in the 19-teens was very similar to Pablo Picasso's but was interested to see this comparison with Cezanne's earlier painting.)

Brothers in Cubism

On the left: Pablo Picasso, "Portrait of Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler," 1910; on the right: Georges Braque, "Le Portugais," 1911-12

I know, I know. This one is a gimme—as any art history student could tell you. But it's still fun to look at. . .

Fun site here with lots more of historical and contemporary pairings.
